Scaling alternative pathways to economic mobility for young people
All young people deserve to live purposeful lives that allow them to realize their goals through workforce opportunities that support their mobility and well-being. Young people living in high-poverty communities often face high barriers to finding career pathways. The connection between education, employment and advancement can be especially weak for young people. Strategies are under development, and our work will focus on Minneapolis and Saint PAUL, MN.
Mentoring programs to prevent youth delinquency
One on one
Our Mentoring programs FOCUS on reducing delinquency we PAIR AT-RISK youth with adult mentors.
at Youth risk with delinquent behavior have individual characteristics showing conduct disorders or antisocial behavior and CHARACTERISTICS. living in neighborhoods with high rates of poverty or crime, coming from abusive families, experiencing parental incarceration.
Many things increase the likelihood of delinquency. Mentors have great knowledge, skills, and EXPERIENCE WITH mentees, but are not in professional or pre-determined relationships with the mentees such as parent-child or teacher-student.

Building A Better Way INC. envisions a youth apprenticeship system-focused opportunity that ensures our youth have multiple pathways to economic well-being and self-sufficiency, fueling the regional talent pipeline to meet various industry needs.
Youth apprenticeships help connect and expose youth ages 16-24 to careers by placing them in real work environments that enable them to earn while they learn, gaining valuable work experience alongside committed employers who care about their success.
